We know that a software update or introduction of any new software in the AEC market makes users lose interest in what they were initially operating on. In other words, a new iPhone has an edge over the old one. People who are gobbled by the idea of \u201cadvancement in technology\u201d are always induced to buy them in the first place. But can we guarantee that introduction of any new technology can replace their comfort of operating on the old one.<\/p>\n

Both Revit and AutoCAD\u00a0are widely used CAD software that creates 2D and 3D models to give the architects and engineers a brief in understanding the actual physical construction of a building. Even though these software are used within the same organization, there are many differences between them.<\/p>\n

In simple language, AutoCAD is primarily a drafting tool to create basic geometry that represents real life information, whereas, in the case of Revit, it is used to create geometry that is equipped with real-life information.<\/p>\n

But Is AutoCAD obsolete?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Revit is a step forward for drafters in the AEC market and there is no doubt that Revit will replace AutoCAD in the coming future as it offers a variety of features to its users.<\/p>\n

Revit gives its drafters a different experience in changing the architectural design and modeling process as in comparison to what AutoCADhas to offer. It has great services to offer to its users and its enhanced tools are used to create geometry that contains real-life information and build its structures and components in 3D.<\/p>\n

But can we still say that the introduction of this new software will leave out AutoCAD to freeze in the cold.<\/p>\n

AutoCAD was originally introduced to replace the need for traditional drafting boards and this software application is commonly used by architects to create blueprints and replicas for building, bridges and various other components within the construction space. This software was the first ever CAD application to be introduced and utilized by many architects and engineers to get a kick start in executing detailed designs components. Despite of the software offering a 3D model designing skill, it increases efficiency and productivity of the drafters as well.<\/p>\n

AutoCAD has been a major player in this sector for several years and there is no doubt that Revit will replace AutoCAD somewhere in the future due to high expectations from architects and engineers but AutoCAD will stick around in some shape or the other.<\/p>\n

We all look forward to being influenced whenever something new has been brought into the market especially the AEC market. The construction players are in need for such technologies that helps to ease their workload and programmes like Revit emit such qualities, but its human nature that we get the most out of anything we use, all we need to do is just give it time.<\/p>\n
